Today, I am happy to share another crop of lovely summer images to warm you during this relentless winter! Captured by Studio A Images, Lauren and Chris were married on a gorgeous July day at a Catholic Church in Hoboken, New Jersey. Following the ceremony, the couple and their wedding party posed for portraits along the waterfront, Pier C and Court Street, capturing the essence of Hoboken. Next, they headed to Seasons for a choreographed introduction dance and a fabulous party. I absolutely adore Lauren’s bold, teal bridal shoes!
A few words from the bride on how they met and the inspiration for their wedding day:
I am a first grade teacher and Chris is a police officer in the same town as my school. I happened to be making copies one Monday morning (which I NEVER do) and a colleague of mine, Becky, who is married to a colleague of Chris’s, also a Chris, came up and starting chatting with me. I NEVER see Becky and she is on the opposite side of the building. She asked if I was single. The Friday night previous to this morning, I had been on a date where the guy feel asleep on our date, so I said to Becky, “yes, but I just want to meet a nice guy-he HAS to be nice.” She and her husband conspired to have us meet at school one day. Her husband brought Chris to school for a “routine” check (Chris didn’t know there was an ulterior motive), and he and I passed one another while I was leaving an assembly. He got my number from Becky.
It was very, very important to us that our celebration (both at the ceremony and the reception) be personal and be reflective of us as a couple and our personalities. I suppose our inspiration was a reflection upon our paths that led us to one another -our wedding song was “God Gave Me You” and I think that element guided us along our planning process. Oh, and it was REALLY important to us that the reception was FUN and lighthearted.
