Wow, talk about amazing bridal shoes! Captured by Adam + Alli Photography, Carley and Max were married on a gorgeous June day in a church ceremony in Jackson, Mississippi. The college sweethearts wanted a modern, Southern atmosphere on their wedding day. A simple color palette of black and white made kept the details of the event elegant and crisp. Carley and Max honored the college where they met with a large ice sculpture of Colonel Rebel, the Ole Miss mascot. I absolutely adore the killer blue heels that Carley wore as her ‘something blue’!
A few words from the bride:
Max is from Memphis, TN and I grew up in Madison, MS. Max and I are college sweethearts. We both attended Ole Miss. We met in 2005 at the Ole Miss v. Vanderbilt football game in Nashville, TN and were introduced by mutual friends. We have been together ever since.
I graduated in Dec. 2008 and moved to Oklahoma City for a job. He moved to Oklahoma city to be with me in May 2009 and went to work for the Oklahoma City Thunder, the NBA team. He is now the marketing director at First Mortgage Company. We got engaged in May of 2012 and married June 8, 2013. We were together over 7 years before we married! We both wanted a southern wedding so we decided even though we were living in OKC, we wanted to get married in Jackson. It was also more convenient for our family and friends too.
We wanted to keep it classic and simple but with a modern southern feel. We chose Fairview Inn for it’s obvious southern charm and thought it would be a perfect backdrop for our wedding. We kept it simple with a black and white color theme and a little more modern with the modern cut tuxes and the variety of bridesmaid dresses. We both love Ole Miss football, Max especially so we had and ice sculpture of Colonel Rebel, the Ole Miss mascot. It was a hit! The flowers were mostly shades of white with hints of pale pink and some greenery. We used the same linens that Kate Middleton supposedly used at her wedding reception- I believe it was called ‘pintuck’ fabric. The centerpeices were a variety of antique glass votives, flower arrangements and candles. We had chandeliers hanging from the huge oak tree outside above the bar.
I had my something blue be my shoes. I have always loved fashion and am currently pursing a career in fashion. When I saw those shoes at Neiman Marcus, I knew I had to have them! The diamond in my wedding ring came from the wedding ring that Max’s dad gave to his mom. Max had it reset into a new setting before he proposed. We honeymooned in Rome and Paris for 10 days in July!
