Wedding Mixing Rock and Roll with Elegance in St. Louis

This wedding has the perfect mix of rock and roll and elegance! Captured by Carretto Studio Photography, Camilla and Jeff were married on a lovely April day in a church ceremony in St. Louis, Missouri. Following the ceremony, the couple and their guests headed to a stunning botanical garden for an outdoor cocktail hour, reception and lots of dancing. A modern aesthetic perfectly blended the couple’s styles; Camilla’s classic elegance and Jeff’s rocker style. Showing his edge, Jeff wore a suit paired with Chuck Taylors. Camilla wore a gorgeous satin gown with a delicate crystal hair pin. Each bridesmaid wore a short, blue infinity dress tied in a unique way to suit her individual style. I love the statement sculpture in the reception room!

A few words from the bride:

Jeff and I first met in high school, and then reconnected years later through mutual friends. Our first official date was at the Missouri Botanical Garden to see the Dale Chihuly exhibit, so it was fitting that our wedding reception would be celebrated in this memorable spot with a Chihuly sculpture as our backdrop. Our wedding from start to finish was exactly what we had imagined – a beautiful spring day surrounded by friends and family with excellent food, drinks, and plenty of dancing. We had relatives and friends in town from as far away as Mozambique (the matron of honor) and Italy (my aunt and uncle) making the event that much more meaningful.

After our ceremony at the historical Lafayette Park United Methodist Church, we hopped on our bus and headed to Vin de Set in Lafayette Square for drinks, photos and fun before our reception. This was one of our favorite parts of the evening, where we were able to hang out with our bridal party and share some laughs.

We made a point of wanting to enlist local vendors and friends that we cared about for our wedding – this made the wedding more personal. For the printed materials, our groomsman’s printing company was our go to; our amazing cupcakes were prepared by Pint-Size Bakery (one of my all-time favorite spots for sweets); our photographers Beth and Andy, of Carretto Studio Photography, are friends of ours and are just all around awesome people; a close friend assisted with makeup and served as our “bridal party cheerleader”; and Jeff’s DJ company, Suit and Tie DJ, played our favorite tunes during the reception. We also turned to Etsy.com for our guest book poster, ceremony programs, name cards and “Mr. & Mrs.” chair signs. Our wedding coordinator through Catering St. Louis made sure every last detail was handled seamlessly.

At the end of the night we looked at each other and agreed this was the perfect way to begin our next adventure.
