Real Bridal Session: Christy in Louisiana

I do not typically post bridal sessions, but I really love the juxtaposition of traditional and modern in these lovely images. Photographed by Catherine Guidry, Christy’s bridal shoot in Lafayette, Louisiana takes place in the modern Acadiana Center for the Arts. The ultra modern design of this building provides a great setting filled with dramatic light and textures. It is in contrast to the traditional idea of a bridal session, as well as Christy’s somewhat traditional gown and veil. Christy has already married the love of her life in the modern wedding of her dreams!

Real Wedding: Rae Ann + Sean in Austin

Today’s wedding feature is filled with theatrical elements, thanks to the groom’s theater background. Captured by Cory Ryan Photography, Rae Ann and Sean were married in mid July in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony in Austin, Texas. The couple’s wedding invitations billed the event as “Sean + Rae Ann’s Big Time Wedding”. Their good friend introduced the wedding like a improv comedy act, with characters cast one by one. Rae Ann was cast as the bride and descended the stairs to much applause. Following the traditional ring exchange, a bridesmaid handcuffed the happy couple together right before their exit! With four children between them, Rae Ann and Sean made sure all their kids were intimately involved in the day. A bright and bold color palette of pink, orange, purple, and green makes a strong statement in the reception room.

Tuesday Shoesday: Spring Color with Bows

This green/blue/sea-foam color is my absolute favorite this spring. It is so fresh, lovely and pastel without being washed out. The Dimensional Peep-Toe pumps by Bibi Lou incorporate this sea-foam hue in a glossy, dainty shoe. The sculptural bow is a great embellishment and adds a playful feel to the otherwise classic peep-toes. (Available via BHLDN here for $150).
