I love this romantic English summer wedding! Captured by Weddings by Nicola & Glen, Emma and Paul were married last May in the picturesque Cotswolds. The couple’s ceremony was held in the 14th century Holy Trinity Church in the village of Shenington, where the bride’s parents live. What made this setting truly unique was the thick layer of grass covering the floor in the church’s ancient tradition of “grass-strewing”. For three weeks from Whitsunday through Pentecost, the church floor is covered with freshly cut grass. Following the lovely ceremony, guests headed to the grounds of Sulgrave Manor, the home of George Washington’s ancestors, for a wonderful celebration. Guests enjoyed croquet and Pimm’s on sun filled lawns and filled favor bags with vintage candies and a special chocolate crunch made by the groom’s grandmother. An elegant color palette of pale pink and burgundy (oxblood if you use this season’s term) perfectly complemented this romantic event!
