Sorry for the silence on the blog for the past week! It turns out this whole motherhood thing is rather time consuming. Today, I am excited to share a fabulous shoot inspired by a contemporary sculpture garden! Captured by Allen Tsai Photography and styled by Keestone Events, this inspiration session utilizes a vibrant green and fuchsia color palette to tie into the gorgeous greens of the surrounding garden. A massive, industrial sculpture perfectly frames the rectangular table setup. Be sure to read more about the inspiration for this session below.
A few words from the planner, Sarah Kee:
Our inspiration for the shoot was drawn from the Nasher Sculpture Center. The museum is known for its contemporary and modern style and we really wanted to showcase that as well with the concept.
We knew that we wanted the shoot to take place in the perfectly manicured gardens of the Nasher, since there are all sorts of amazing art displayed there, from massive structures to organic shapes. It all tied in perfectly with the vibrant green landscape and we were excited to have the shoot there.
A big reason for this is because it was important to us that we bring in something very traditional like a wedding and bring it into a contemporary setting and have a balance of both the classic and modern. This was done by having rectangular tables match the hard lines of sculptures, along with flowers in boxes, a cake with strong lines, and escort cards in a wooden box.
However, we also wanted to showcase an organic side to mimic the other free-flowing sculptural forms so we had circle shapes placed on the cake, black pebbles in the box with the escort cards, circular plates, a runner with those same circles and circle flower balls.
Additionally, it was important that a vibrant color be used as well to tie in the greens of the garden to the neutral gold, pale green and ivory palette. So, a fuchsia was selected to be the connector.
