I love how today’s couple made their wedding day a true reflection of their personalities! Captured by Blume Photography, Melanie and James were married on a gorgeous June day in an unconventional ceremony in Athens, Georgia. The couple flew from their current state of California, where they both work in the movie industry, to Georgia for their casual, family reunion style wedding day. Starting as best friends, this couple’s Hollywood love story was over a decade in the making. Instead of a formal ceremony, Melanie and James began their botanical garden greenhouse reception right away and simply stood up from their table to exchange personal vows in front of family and friends. The decor was kept simple, yet graphic, with a black and white color palette and a bold chevron pattern on the table linens.

Although the two met on one occasion in their home state of Georgia, it wasn’t until they lived in California that their Hollywood love story really began. Best friends for over a decade, their love, like all great things started from humble beginnings and developed into a love that will last forever. Wanting to avoid the stress and drama of a big wedding, James and Melanie opted for something fun, something casual, something…them. With the two leads chosen for this Hollywood love story, all they needed was a great crew to make it really shine. Behind the camera, they went with Blume Photography. They had done an excellent job on Melanie’s brother’s wedding, were lovely to deal with and were very accommodating AND took amazing photos to boot. We had Hillary Maloney taking on the epic task of helping us organize everything from across the country. From Hillary, we were able to lock in the sound department for the event with a great DJ, Jesse. With all of these pieces in place, there was no question the night would be a huge success.
