I love the candlelit romance of today’s winter wedding! Captured by Blue Rose Photography, Brittney and John were married on a February day in Everett, Washington. The bride originally dreamed of a summer wedding, but she created lots of warmth at her winter wedding with hundreds of candles lighting the ceremony aisle and reception space. A classic color palette of navy and white paired perfectly with the romantic atmosphere of this beautiful wedding.
A few words from the bride:
My husband and I met in the 4th grade where we were both in the school orchestra. We began dating at age 14 and always had music to connect our very different lives (John plays Cello, I play Violin.) Our wedding day was exactly 11 years after the first time we said I love you. I always dreamed of getting married outside during the summer at sunset, however, after serving a year as Miss Washington (you cannot be married as Miss Washington) with a term that ended in July, I couldn’t wait to marry the love of my life and we decided to go for a winter wedding and thus, I created a sunset wedding indoors in the middle of winter. We brought in over 300 candles for the ceremony and dimmed all of the lights to create the ambiance of pure romance. Music is so important in our lives that we wanted this to be an especially unique piece of our wedding. My sister (and Maid of Honor) lead the bridal party down the aisle while performing live on the ukelele the hawaiian version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow (Both of our parents and grandparents married in Hawaii). We had a ring warming ceremony and John’s ring was tied to the bridge of a cello, and mine was tied to the tuning peg of a violin. To make it even more special- our junior high school orchestra teacher attened our wedding as a guest of honor. We wanted our ceremony to be very intimate and emotional so we did not do a first look, and we wrote our own vows which were a surprise to eachother in the ceremony.
