The setting of this wedding is amazing; perfect for the Midsummer Night’s Dream inspiration! Captured by Carly Valentine Photography, Maeve and Sean were married this past June in a beautiful church ceremony in Pennsauken, New Jersey. Following the ceremony, the couple boarded a blue trolley and headed to their reception at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Center in Philadelphia. With its lush gardens and a ceiling covered in hanging white lanterns, this venue was perfect for the bride’s Midsummer Night’s Dream inspiration. A neutral color palette of creams and whites was used to further the romantic ballet theme. Maeve and Sean currently reside in New York City. Be sure to read more about the couple and their wedding below.
About the couple from the bride:
In 2007 Sean and I both worked in Iowa for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. We were in separate cities so we never met, though we found a photograph from a staff party that we are both in, but didn’t know it at the time! We eventually met months later working for the same Congresswoman. Our love of politics brought us together.
About the wedding inspiration from the bride:
My favorite ballet is A Midsummer Night’s Dream and this is what I was hoping to be the theme of our wedding. We used the fantastic florist, Sullivan Owen, who created beautiful pieces with whites, creams, champagnes and greens. We picked the Horticulture Center because we knew with their white lights and white lanterns hanging about the dance floor, we’d be able to recreate the beautiful scenes from the ballet/play. The invitations were a light green and cream as well to reflect the feel of the day. One of the many reasons I chose my dress was because the flowers reminded me so much of the ballet and of the beautiful flowers that lay about the reception venue.
