This wedding is filled to the brim with DIY details! Photographed by The R2 Studio, Kari and Eric were married last April in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in Mesa, Arizona. Kari was definitely a hands-on bride; making everything from invitations, menus, signs, wine cork place card holders, favors and ceremony programs to her hand stitched Spanish veil and belt! She is one talented bride. Eric, a local radio DJ, had a ton of groomsmen who worked the dance floor at the reception. I love the use of a neutral color palette to allow the natural beauty of the venue gardens to stand out. A few words from the bride on how the couple met and their wedding inspiration:
“Eric and I met through a mutual friend when we lived in Poughkeepsie, NY. We are polar opposites, with me being an engineer and he a morning radio show host, but I think we enjoy our differences and balance each other out. In 2010, we moved to Arizona so that I could go back to school for my PhD. We have since bought a house and gotten married out here and are finding that we really like it here.
The only real inspiration I had for our wedding was that I wanted to be able to look at our pictures 20 years from now and still love all of the choices we made. I wanted it to be elegant and classic. I decided to keep to go with muted colors because I felt that the garden setting had its own beauty and colors.”
