This wedding is filled with must-see simple, elegant detailing! Captured by K and K Photography, Tally and Bill were married last July in a beautiful church ceremony in Tampa, Florida. Following the ceremony, the couple celebrated with friends and family at Higgins Hall at St. Lawrence Church. A color palette of white and green with pops of pink was used to emphasize the vintage atmosphere. I absolutely love Tally’s gown! It is simple and elegant, while still having that “wow” factor. Be sure to read a few words from the bride below:
“I wanted a vintage feel for the reception that was held at Higgins Hall at St. Lawrence Church in Tampa. It has beautiful wooden floors, a small stage, an entire wall of charming floor to ceiling windows, new 8ft silk trees, a 23ft coffered ceiling with original tin panels and had been freshly painted and updated.
We filled the ballroom with round tables, dark mahogany chiavari chairs, white linens, vintage champagne glasses, and fabulous 32 inch centerpieces that took up most of the table top and were full of light and dark green leafy plants, light green hydrangea, and willow vine wound throughout with a giant hurricane lamp and white candle in the center. We used commercial outdoor string lights with clear bulbs strung between four 16 ft. wooden lampposts to define the dance floor. My Dad designed and built the lampposts which were each anchored by a custom made tree box and held a 13 ft. tall white flowering crepe myrtle tree that we rented from a local nursery.
Our invitations were designed by Leigh Bohne, a local artist who captured the atmosphere of our reception by painting a watercolor scene of plants, pink flowers and strings of lights with free form lettering. His design looked just like a picture from the reception venue!!
I wore an ivory, faille strapless dress with a simple silhouette but dazzled with a wide Swarovski crystal bow belt. The only color, other than green and white, was dark pink that came from my bouquet and the bridesmaids dresses which had the same bow belt detail only in fabric.
We had Charlie Hotel Band, a great band that plays in venues all over Tampa to emcee and play our favorite tunes.
And my new husband Bill serenaded me singing Sinatra’s The Way You Look Tonight. He and the Groomsmen even performed a routine to the song choreographed by Pennye Garcia, my friend and dance instructor.
We dined and danced the night away! It was wonderful!”
