Beautiful Winter Engagement Session in Georgetown

I love the misty atmosphere of this winter engagement session! Captured by Sheaulee Ng Photography, Kim and Teddy spent an early December day wandering around the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington DC. Kim has been living in Washington DC since her graduation from James Madison University, but a proposal from Teddy convinced her to move back to New Jersey. The couple will be married in NJ this spring and plans to settle there after the wedding, so they wanted a DC engagement session as a reminder of their time in the city. The images of Kim’s stunning diamond engagement ring are a must see!

Gorgeous Red + Orange Wedding in Washington DC

Today’s wedding is a beautiful event from my new town! Captured by Edward Underwood Photography, Lauren and Michael were married last September at the Washington Hebrew Congregation in Washington DC. The couple met when Lauren and her roommates hosted an Inauguration party in January of 2009. Once Michael arrived at the party, he and Lauren immediately hit it off while discussing travel. After the party ended, Lauren realized Michael hadn’t gotten her number and called a mutual friend to tell him she was interested in Michael. However, Michael had already beat her to it! He had contacted the mutual friend that morning and promptly called to ask her out…the rest was history! Their wedding was filled with gorgeous details, but I think my favorite elements are the bold pops of oranges, reds, and yellows.

Real Wedding: Lindsey + Michael in Washington, DC

I think art museums are the perfect setting for a modern wedding since they typically offer clean lines, white walls and, of course, gorgeous artwork. Captured by Robert Holley Photography, Lindsey and Michael were married last August at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC. The museum serves as a gorgeous backdrop for their indoor ceremony and reception. A bold royal blue punctuated the otherwise white decor, while architectural floral arrangements defined the ceremony aisle. I love how the guests were able to sip cocktails amongst stunning works of art.
