I love the perfect spring lighting in today’s feature engagement session! Captured by Stephen Gosling Photography, Kate and Ryan spent a beautiful March day wandering around the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The couple will be married this summer in Sonoma, California, but since they both went to school at Georgetown University, they wanted to come back to DC for a few engagement photos at their favorite hang outs.
Captured by Jessica Schmitt Photography, Erin and Kevin were married at the Dahlgren Chapel of the Sacred Heart at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. Erin and Kevin met during the GERMS (Georgetown Emergency Response Medical Service) training program at Georgetown University. Many of their wedding details reflected how they met, from the portraits next to an ambulance, to the group shots with Jack the bulldog, the beloved GU mascot. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the waterfront Collingwood Library & Museum, land that was once part of George Washington’s River Farm. A note from the bride:
“Dahlgren wouldn’t allow the flower girls to throw petals, so Kevin and I decided to do something a little different: in each wedding invitation, we included a blank heart for guests to write their wishes for the bride and groom. We turned the wishes into the wreath. Some of the wishes were good advice (“Cherish is the word”), some were the unsolicited suggestions all married couples get (“Start procreating IMMEDIATELY”), and some revealed which guests are simply terrible at following directions (“I hope you have good cake at the reception.”) Kevin and I loved reading all the little notes as the invitation started coming in.”
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! Today, I can’t get enough of this sweet engagement session by ZADesignz. Angela and Jonathan’s session in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington D.C. has just the right mix of urban and natural scenery. I also love the stunning night images and ring shots!
