Captured by DeBruyn Photography and styled by Girl Friday, Sari and Ryan spent a day in downtown Minneapolis posing for a fun and whimsical newlywed session. The best part about a newlywed session is it gives the bride a chance to wear her beautiful gown again! Carly from Girl Friday painted the fox masks herself and found a fabulous raccoon fur for $8 at a local junk sale. These props pull the session together perfectly, while adding a unique touch.
Today’s wedding combines a classic black and ivory color palette with pops of bright yellow, adding a modern twist. Captured by Alison Mish Photography, Laura and Jack were married on a beautiful day this April in a University chapel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The couple met while attending medical school at Temple University in Philadelphia. They chose to add yellow to the black and ivory color scheme as a nod to their mutual love of the Pittsburgh Penguins ice hockey team. Be sure to read the story of how Laura and Jack met and their inspiration for their wedding day below!
A few words from the bride:
Jack and I met when we first began medical school at Temple in August 2008. We were merely friends until one fateful day in May 2009 when we went for a run together. After those first miles together, I knew I was in trouble…He proposed in September 2012 in Wissahickon Park in Philadelphia. We took our dogs (Rocky & Bullwrinkle) for a walk in the park, something which we did fairly frequently. We stopped in a secluded spot off the trail to check out the creek and when I turned around he was down on one knee with the ring in his hand. It was perfect!
I wanted to something very classy (but not super formal) for the wedding, which is why we went for the black and ivory color scheme. Since the wedding was in Pittsburgh (and it was actually mutual love of the Pittsburgh Penguins which really sealed us together as a couple) we chose yellow as an accent color.
I love the mix of soft pink, hot pink and neutrals in this hotel wedding! Captured by K&K Photography, Brigitte and Anthony were married on a sunny October day at a lovely hotel in Tampa, Florida. The couple lives out of state, so they enlisted the help of many fabulous vendors to make their dream wedding a reality. Set on a rooftop overlooking the ocean, the ceremony was stunning! Next, friends and family headed indoors for dinner and dancing. Simple, architectural centerpieces and a color palette of neutrals with pops of pink set the tone for this modern affair.
A few words from the event planner:
The inspiration for the event was clean and modern – utilizing the atmosphere set by Armani’s (a beautiful rooftop venue overlooking Tampa Bay). The bride’s obsession with all things pink played well off of the venue’s white/neutral palette.
