Real Elopement: Christi + Zach in North Carolina

I love how courthouse weddings and elopements put the focus of the day on the most important part of a wedding; the marriage. Jen Yuson, of Jen Yuson Photography, received a text message from her best friend, Christi, last January 21 saying that she was getting married in just two days in Winston Salem, North Carolina! Being a wedding photographer, Jen was grateful that this took place in January and that the ceremony would be on a Monday. The spontaneity of this elopement added to the romance of the day, and without the months of planning and agonizing over small details, Christi and Zach’s wedding showcases what is essence of all weddings: marriage. Pops of red seen in the couple’s shoes and Christi’s rose bouquet add just the right touch of color.

Real City Hall Wedding: Rhianon + Scott in San Francisco

This couple has such fun vintage-modern style! Captured by Modern Love Photography, Rhianon and Scott celebrated the receipt of their marriage license last May with an intimate civil ceremony prior to their larger, planned wedding day. The couple exchanged vows at San Francisco’s City Hall before heading to a local sweet shop to share a few cupcakes. Rhianon looked fabulous in her short white dress, cage veil, and bold red lipstick, while Scott looked quite dapper in his red polka-dot bow tie! I love the idea of a private ceremony between only the bride and groom. It seems this would let you step back from all the fanfare of a big wedding and remember what a marriage is all about; a lifelong commitment between two people.

Real Wedding: Marla + Vince in California

Marla and Vince had a sweet, intimate dinner reception following their courthouse nuptials. Captured by Brooke Photography & Design, the couple celebrated with fifty close friends and family at Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Restaurant in Anaheim, California. Marla and Vince took a hands on approach, arranging all of the flowers themselves. The bride looked stunning in a lace gown by Vera Wang and two pairs of fabulous shoes! The groom looked dashing in his Burberry tie. I love the “thank you” heart props, they are such a cute idea for the upcoming thank you notes.
