Simple Wedding by the Sea in Rhode Island

Hooray for a very belated new post! Sometimes life just gets too hectic. Anyway, on to the beautiful wedding…

Captured by Jamie Ivins Photography, Meg and Dan were married on a lovely October day in a church ceremony in Bristol, Rhode Island. Their seaside wedding was filled with simple, thoughtful details and subtle nautical elements. A classic navy color palette tied together all the details. I especially love all the getting ready images; they really set the stage for this understated, elegant event!

A few words from the bride:

Dan and I met as “just-barely teenagers” and formed an instant friendship. By the time we entered high school, we had become each others’ lab-partner, confidant, and best friend. This friendship kept either of us from asking for more out of the relationship, since neither wanted to ruin what we had built. However, by the time we entered junior year, we decided to take the leap into the dating realm- and it was so worth it! Fast forward through the rest of high school and college, and we were getting married on our ten year anniversary!

We were striving for “classic elegance” throughout the wedding design. We didn’t want anything too elaborate, we just wanted timeless. Our colors were champagne and ivory, which we tried to incorporate from the twinkle lights, to the table cloths, to the candle lit centerpieces.

However, the thing we cared about the most was that we made the wedding about us and our families. We added little touches throughout the ceremony and reception to signify who we are and to thank our family. They helped make our wedding spectacular and we are so grateful for their support over the past ten years!

In addition to our friends and family, our team of vendors made our wedding day perfect! Everyone that we worked with was amazing and the relationships went so far past those contractual in nature. Every bride and groom wants beautiful, timeless photographs to remember their “big day” and we definitely got those, but we also got so much more from our photographer, Jamie Ivins Photography, who reminded us to have fun and enjoy the entire process! Likewise, our caterer, Arolin Hughes from Russell Morin Catering, was so patient and accommodating that she made everything about the reception perfect (extending past the delicious food)! On The Rise Bakery topped off the dinner with a fantastic cake as well! Adding to that lineup was our singer/DJ, Tom Conte, from Conte Sound Productions, who brought an amazing voice to our dinner and a party-atmosphere to the dancing! Finally, to round out the fabulous team was our florist, Valley Falls Florist; tent designer, Ryan Designs; and Blithewold coordinator, Karen Bellevance who made the church and tent beautiful!

Energetic Purple + Orange Wedding in Cleveland

This wedding is bursting with energy and loads of personal touches! Captured by Alicia White Photography, Ally and Carlos were married on a crisp October day at a beautiful Catholic Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Carlos and Ally are both graphic designers, so they used their creative backgrounds to design many wedding elements, including the invitations. They also selected an amazing local art gallery in downtown Cleveland for the reception. A bold and modern color palette of orange and purple was used throughout the wedding attire and decor. I love that Carlos had an “A” tattooed on his ring finger in lieu of a traditional wedding ring!

A few words from the bride:

Carlos and I actually met at work and still work together! Since we are both artists and designers (Carlos actually designed the invitations!), we wanted a casual celebration that showed our creative side. We both feel like Alicia, our photographer, did an AMAZING job of capturing all the emotion and special details from the day! People also could not stop talking about how great the food was. Ruth and Doug at Gatherings Kitchen were a joy to work with.

Modern Nautical Wedding in Wisconsin

I love this wedding’s fresh, modern take on a nautical theme! Captured by Soda Fountain Photography, Katie and John were married last August in a beautiful Catholic church in Fontana, Wisconsin. Following the ceremony, the couple and their guests headed to a nearby resort for a reception under a lovely white tent. A classic navy, white, and blush pink color palette was used to emphasize the nautical theme. Katie and John’s wedding day was graced with a bit of rain, which led to some absolutely stunning “kissing in the rain” images! I also adore the s’mores favors; such a cute idea.

A few words from the bride:

John and I are high school sweethearts and happened to also be in the same pre-school class and after all these years I still have the biggest crush on him, it’s like living high school every day! The day we married, we’d been together for 9 years! We were long distance all through college, 5 hours apart, John in MN and myself in IL, and the state of Wisconsin was always our meeting point, so it was perfect to get married there. The Abbey Resort is where my sister had her wedding, Saint Benedict Church is where John’s grandparents belong too, and of course our favorite beer, Spotted Cow (only made and distributed in WI) which was our “signature drink” of the night. Our wedding was a nautical boat theme based off the beautiful views of Lake Geneva, which highlighted the white outdoor tent, nautical linens, our handsome groomsmen in casual khaki suits with boat shoes and the amazing pictures captured in the boat marina!
