Real Wedding: Lauren + Michael in Washington DC

Today’s wedding is a beautiful event from my new town! Captured by Edward Underwood Photography, Lauren and Michael were married last September at the Washington Hebrew Congregation in Washington DC. The couple met when Lauren and her roommates hosted an Inauguration party in January of 2009. Once Michael arrived at the party, he and Lauren immediately hit it off while discussing travel. After the party ended, Lauren realized Michael hadn’t gotten her number and called a mutual friend to tell him she was interested in Michael. However, Michael had already beat her to it! He had contacted the mutual friend that morning and promptly called to ask her out…the rest was history! Their wedding was filled with gorgeous details, but I think my favorite elements are the bold pops of oranges, reds, and yellows.

Real Wedding: Beth + Keith in NYC

I really do love NYC weddings. Photographed by Studio A Images, Beth and Keith were married in early October at the beautiful Chapel of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Manhattan. Following the touching ceremony, the couple headed to Grand Central Terminal for a few post vow photographs. They hit a bit of Friday traffic on the way to their reception at the Jersey City Hyatt Regency, but made the best of it by sharing laughs and Cheetos in the car. During the reception, guests enjoyed amazing panoramic views of the city while dancing the night away. A color palette of red and deep purples was carried throughout the attire, flower arrangements, and decor.

Real Wedding: Brooke + Mike in Indianapolis

Today’s wedding combines modern details with many family traditions. Photographed by Becky Brown Photography, Brooke and Mike were married on a beautiful late fall day in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Both Brooke and Mike’s parents celebrated 30 years of marriage in August, so the couple chose to honor their parents by using many items from their weddings. Brooke wore her mother’s wedding gloves, and the cake topper and unity candle were both also from her parent’s wedding. Mike wore one black sock and one brown sock just as his dad did accidentally on his wedding day 30 years prior (you can see them in the photo above). The couple used a vibrant red to accent their decor and each bridesmaid carried a different type of red flower.
