Real Wedding: Christie + Charles in St. Louis

Today’s feature wedding is overflowing with gorgeous modern details! Photographed by Karey Michelle Photography, Christie and Charles were married last June in a destination wedding in St. Louis, Missouri. Their Catholic ceremony took place at the beautiful Old Cathedral (Basilica of St. Louis, King), the oldest cathedral west of the Mississippi. The couple’s reception was originally planned for the Gateway Arch Riverboat Cruise, but unfortunately the river flooded the weekend of their wedding. An alternate plan was carried out with a fabulous reception at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at The Arch. Following the reception, Christie and Charles exited via horse and carriage…complete with a “just married” sign! I love the bold mixing of bright colors in the floral arrangements and centerpieces. Orange, pink, blue and purple are used to create a super modern atmosphere.

Real Wedding: Megan + William in Texas

Wow, is this wedding stunning! Captured by Cory Ryan Photography, Megan and William were married last May in Kyle, Texas, a town just outside of Austin. The bride wore a lovely fitted gown with a jeweled sash and a Russian tulle veil. The venue, The Winfield Inn is not only breathtaking, but also environmentally conscious. They crush all the leftover glass from wine and beer bottles onsite and use the pieces for art and pathways. Additionally, al the leftover food and floral waste is composted and used for onsite organic herb gardens. Guests enjoyed mingling with a glass of wine prior to the ceremony that opened with adorable ring bearers in matching cowboy outfits. The bouquets feature gorgeous hues of peach and plum. The centerpieces were comprised of pastel blooms in eclectic vintage glass vases. During the happy hour, the Whiskey Shivers, a barefooted bluegrass band, entertained the guests. Finally, an intricate wedding cake covered in Victorian lace was served. Brownies were available as the groom’s cake and kids enjoyed cupcakes!
