Modern Southern Wedding in Mississippi

Wow, talk about amazing bridal shoes! Captured by Adam + Alli Photography, Carley and Max were married on a gorgeous June day in a church ceremony in Jackson, Mississippi. The college sweethearts wanted a modern, Southern atmosphere on their wedding day. A simple color palette of black and white made kept the details of the event elegant and crisp. Carley and Max honored the college where they met with a large ice sculpture of Colonel Rebel, the Ole Miss mascot. I absolutely adore the killer blue heels that Carley wore as her ‘something blue’!

A few words from the bride:

Max is from Memphis, TN and I grew up in Madison, MS. Max and I are college sweethearts. We both attended Ole Miss. We met in 2005 at the Ole Miss v. Vanderbilt football game in Nashville, TN and were introduced by mutual friends. We have been together ever since.

I graduated in Dec. 2008 and moved to Oklahoma City for a job. He moved to Oklahoma city to be with me in May 2009 and went to work for the Oklahoma City Thunder, the NBA team. He is now the marketing director at First Mortgage Company. We got engaged in May of 2012 and married June 8, 2013. We were together over 7 years before we married! We both wanted a southern wedding so we decided even though we were living in OKC, we wanted to get married in Jackson. It was also more convenient for our family and friends too.

We wanted to keep it classic and simple but with a modern southern feel. We chose Fairview Inn for it’s obvious southern charm and thought it would be a perfect backdrop for our wedding. We kept it simple with a black and white color theme and a little more modern with the modern cut tuxes and the variety of bridesmaid dresses. We both love Ole Miss football, Max especially so we had and ice sculpture of Colonel Rebel, the Ole Miss mascot. It was a hit! The flowers were mostly shades of white with hints of pale pink and some greenery. We used the same linens that Kate Middleton supposedly used at her wedding reception- I believe it was called ‘pintuck’ fabric. The centerpeices were a variety of antique glass votives, flower arrangements and candles. We had chandeliers hanging from the huge oak tree outside above the bar.

I had my something blue be my shoes. I have always loved fashion and am currently pursing a career in fashion. When I saw those shoes at Neiman Marcus, I knew I had to have them! The diamond in my wedding ring came from the wedding ring that Max’s dad gave to his mom. Max had it reset into a new setting before he proposed. We honeymooned in Rome and Paris for 10 days in July!

Ultra Chic Black + White Wedding in Toronto

This wedding has an amazing, ultra-chic vibe! Captured by Mango Studios, Hailey and Jason were married on a September day in the historic Distillery District in Toronto, Canada. The couple’s wedding featured a crisp black and white color palette with small hints of blush, creating a very modern, yet romantic, atmosphere. The gorgeous ceremony tent was transformed into a hip lounge for the reception. The main reception room had an industrial aesthetic, with exposed beams and brick, softened by tons of flowers. The dessert table was to die for, with red velvet cupcakes, a croquembouche tower, and salted caramel french macarons!

A few words from the couple:

We wanted a very modern and elegant wedding, almost like a black tie event; yet we didn’t want it to have a “hard” feel. We thought that the rustic look of the distillery district and the boiler house, combined with the enormous amount of flowers and candles would provide the perfect amount of “softness” to the evening. Our dream was to host an event where our closet family and friends (wedding size was about 150) could truly enjoy an elegant evening together in the city and not feel as if they were simply at another “cookie cutter” wedding.

Modern Black + White Destination Wedding in Miami

I love the simple, black and white color palette of this chic beach wedding! Captured by Carolina Guzik Photography, Kathryn and Andrew were married on a picturesque summer day at a lovely, modern hotel in Miami, Florida. Kathryn and Andrew live in England, but chose Miami for their intimate destination wedding after falling in love with the city while on vacation several years prior. The couple kept the ceremony and reception small, with only fifty of their best friends and family accompanying them. The crisp black and white color palette allowed the beauty of the hotel and beach to shine!

A few words from the bride:

Myself & Andrew met at college 11 years ago, but it wasnt until 7 years ago that we got together. Our biggest hobby is going on holiday together, mainly across the pond to the USA. Our love for the USA brought us to Miami 3 years ago and we instantly fell in love with the city. We then got engaged in Central Park in New York and instantly knew that Miami was our perfect destination wedding. The W South Beach is so beautiful and it didnt need much decoration, we wanted to keep the colour theme to black and white and let the beauty of the surroundings do the talking, it was the perfect wedding.
